Wildflowers in Kings Canyon
With the coming of spring, the hills and mountains of the Sierras come alive with color. It begins in the warmer foothills in approximately April to May and comes to the higher mountain country in June or July. The meadows and mountainsides are teeming with wildflowers.
One can view any number of colors and types ranging from purple and blue lupine, Indian paintbrush, Chinese houses and Golden poppies in the foothills to Mountain Pride, phlox, penstemon, coneflower, monkeyflower and pussy paws in the higher elevations.
